The Illustrious Royal Order of Saint Januarius: Celebrating the Glory of 'il Santo'
The Chivalric Order dedicated to 'il Santo' that every new Sovereign of Naples immediately paid respect, before talking to anyone else. That went for the Napoleon family, as well. No exception.
Today, 19 September, is the Feast of Saint Januarius, or ‘Festa di San Gennaro’, a significant annual religious and cultural event honoring ‘il Santo’, the patron saint of Naples, the Illustrious Royal Order of Saint Januarius of the House of Two Sicilies, as well as the Kingdom of Naples and Kingdom of Two Sicilies.
